Press momentary switch or ARM then DISARM the VAAR 2000 to set to ORANGE

Quick Setup

  • Unpack contents of VAAR 2000 and take back cover off
  • Connect 9V battery to VAAR 2000 (L3 On if battery is Rechargeable : L3 OFF if battery is not rechargeable)
  • Connect the Plugpack into J1 (Note white trace wire is positive)
  • Connect VCR to same mains power outlet (with jumper L5 "ON") - Preferably connect both to a Interruptible Power Supply
  • Check to see if VCR goes into standby when first powered up ( If so jumper L4 must be "ON")
  • Put a blank Cassette tape into your VCR
  • Find The Programming code for your video (see reverse side of this sheet)
  • Slide the "prog" switch ON
  • Enter 4 Digit code ( 1 digit at a time - slide appropriate digit switch ON then OFF for each of the 4 digits)
  • slide the "prog" switch OFF
  • slide the "Test" switch ON then OFF with the VAAR 2000 pointed directly at the VCR
  • Check to see the VCR starts Recording (IF not try the code again or a different Code if there is more than 1 choice)
  • Once the VCR starts recording turn the Mains power OFF to both the VCR & VAAR 2000
  • Turn the mains power back ON to both again (at same time)
  • Check that the VAAR 2000 takes the video out of standby (if L4 is ON)
  • Connect the alarm sensors or triggering devices to J2 on VAAR 2000 (+12V or +9V on J6 may be used to power sensors etc..)
  • **REMOVE LINK ACROSS NC ON J2 SENSOR INPUT IF SENSOR USES THE NC INPUT
  • Connect external arming device to J8 if used e.g Standalone keypad , key barrel switch - (between KEY &COM)
  • **REMOVE THE LINK ON J8 IF EXTERNAL LATCHED SWITCH USED
  • Connect external Power Monitor device if used to J7 (Note NC and NO are given in the power OFF state)
  • Connect external Status Led to J9 if used (Cathode of LED's must be connected to 0V from J6)
  • Connect Camera and or "Time Date Generator" to VCR (+12V or +9V on J6 may be used to power camera if needed)
  • Once The system is set up arm the system and wait for the green LED to come ON , check that the sensor output triggers the VAAR 2000 (RED LED bright then dim flashing) and that the VCR starts recording with a Picture - A T.V or Monitor may be connected to VCR for this trial .
  • Remember that the VCR and VAAR 2000 should be kept in a Safe and secure area hidden from sight with the VAAR 2000 pointing at the VCR or reflecting off a mirrored surface.
